Optical properties of Ag<sub><i>x</i></sub>Cu<sub>1–<i>x</i></sub>I alloy thin films

We report on the excitonic transition energy E0 and spin–orbit split-off Δ0 of γ-AgxCu1–xI alloy thin films studied by using reflectivity measurements at temperatures between 20 K 290 K. The observed bowing behavior as a function composition is explained based first-principles band structure calculations in terms different physical chemical contributions within description ordered alloys. coupling found to increase from value 640 meV for CuI approximately 790 AgI. Furthermore, we show that temperature-dependent bandgap shift decreases with increasing Ag-content 25 6 attribute this mostly changes contribution thermal lattice expansion shift.
